Hi there, I've been looking at the above posts a bit and decided to add my own few cents into this.

There are some more issues with at least the 7th legionnaire plate armor which I'll also post here, adding to some images and such which you can see here:

<img class="go2wpf-bbcode" src=" https://i.imgur.com/5ldrT2Y.jp g">

WOWHEAD LINK: https://www.wowhead.com/dressing-room#Rz0z0zJ89cRk0mz9m8UeL8zxN8Ueu8zxN87MUeg8zxN87mUei8zxG8Uen8zxN8Uel8zxN8UeA8zxN8UeE8zxN87m

It looks like the problems are:

  • Armor shapes on the boots and gloves (They are flat, should not be flat)

  • Armor parts on Boots, Legs, Belt, Hands and Chest (WoWhead also seems to have trouble with the texture on the belt and the blue shawl on the chest)

  • The helmet (Not only is it missing on this armor set, but all other helmets seem to be too big and misplaced)

It looks like this trouble exists with much of the new armor, both raid and otherwise that uses additional parts on the armor.

I hope the information is clear enough for you ^^ I understand this stuff takes quite some work to get fixed, don't wanna rush ya! Just to add some more clarity if it means anything.

I see that the problem is with incorrect race model loading.

For example Human male model is loading Scourge Helm and Collection models.

Model name for Humans are _Hu_M and _HuM but when I load those helms on human and when I check what .m2 model is loaded up it is SC_M and SCM what is for scourge / undeads. So for some reason WMV thinks that human is scourge :D

The only one that works correctly is Dwarf race. Rest of the races are mixed up.

EDIT: Damn Silencer, you beat me to it.

Ok, I am not very good with code and all that, so I tried to approach this from an angle I could deal with.

LEFT: I tried dressing up a tauren male in armor that uses collection parts (the 3D models pasted onto the character that aren't belt buckles, helms or shoulders), and those parts seemed very odd in shape, size and placement.

CENTER: To get a better look, I put it in his 0-frame position, a sort of "neutral" stance of the model. On both pictures I made the tauren see-through to show the collection parts.

RIGHT: Looking through the various files, I found that it had used the collection file from the gnome male rather than tauren male.

I am not gonna bore you with another mock-up, but the same went for the helm. Buckles and shoulders are a different story, since all races/genders use the same.

This could go a long way explaining the character model issues.

Hello! Long time user here (since about 2006), first time poster.

I dont seem to be able to load maghar orcs or the upright orcs either. Are they not included in the modelviewer or have i missed something?

I think there is a general problem with head items.

  • In the female human it's shifted down, in the middle of the face. (also, the cloak is not showing). Armory link:

<a href=" https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/nemesis/väleri e" class="bbcode_url"> https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/nemesis/välerie

  • In the Blood elf female, it looks enormous, like if it's the Tauren model or something.

  • In the male human, it looks tiny.

The problem occurs with every item, not just one. Here are some pics:

Like Silencer and I said, this is because WMV picks the wrong helms/collections for the character. In this case, it picks the helm of a female undead rather than human, who has a different shape and posture, and therefore it gets the wrong model and offset.

That said, it is not the only problem, there is also a general problem with some helms not showing up at all, as well as collection part hidden by default, having to be enabled in geosets separately.

As for the missing helms, it appears to be an inconsistency with how Blizzard notes race and gender. I am able to display Sirensong Headdress (helm_cloth_kultirasquest_b_01_huf.m2) as it uses the normal format of "huf" to denote human female, but not Grasping Crown of the Deep (helm_cloth_kultirasdungeon_c_01_hu_f.m2), because it puts the underscore in there.

I've submitted a fix for the wrong race's armour pieces being displayed on character models. The issue is some legacy code that should probably have been removed some time ago:

https://wowmodelviewer.net:8443/browse/WMV-348

Assuming it doesn't cause any issues I'm unaware of, it could be in the next release.

I'll look at the bad helm issue now.

Update: As DashSlashDash mentioned, I think the issue with bad or missing items like helms (actually, any racial items that are placed on models could be affected) is a name formatting issue. WMV is checking for race/sex codes of the format like "_gnm" for gnome males, which works for a lot of items, but some newer ones are using formats like "_gn_m" instead. I could simply check for both formats, but first I'm checking with the experts if there's a better way. Checking the file name format seems like a really messy method, but for all I know it could be way Blizzard does it :/ Hopefully there's a much cleaner way, by querying a database or something.

Hi!

I have this problem. As you can see, I don't have item names and item categories. How can I solve this problem? In previous WMV version reinstall of game help me. But it took 10 hours, to fully reinstall game. Is there more easier way to solve it? :)
